Introduction

Thank-you for purchasing Fifth Dimension's HelpDesk application. We take great pride in our software and trust it will exceed your requirements. This product was designed by a team of Information Technology experts to meet the needs of both new and experienced users.

The purpose of the Helpdesk application is to allow users to monitor and observe challenging areas they may face while using their computer. It will enable users to make checks based on past experienced problems, as well as to enter new problems in the hopes of preventing them in the future. Reports can be generated and geared to suit the needs of individual users.

Fifth Dimension always has the needs of the client in mind, and welcomes any feedback from software users on improving or modifying the package to suit the needs of users.
System Requirements

The minimum system requirements for Helpdesk are as follows:
-IBM compatible computer running with Intel 486 CPU
-8 MB RAM
-Windows 95
-3.5 Floppy Disk (if program is not purchased from our Web site)

Fifth Dimension recommends the following for optimal performance:
-Pentium Class computer
-32 MB RAM

Installing HelpDesk

HelpDesk is a versatile application that installs with ease. If you have downloaded HelpDesk from our Web Site, simply copy the HelpDesk.exe file into a directory of your choice (e.g. Help Desk). For clients who have purchased the application from a vendor, the procedure is as follows: Insert the disk into your 3.5" floppy drive. In Windows Explorer, highlight the drive (usually drive A: ) , then copy the program from that drive to a directory that you have previously created on the C: drive. Note that although HelpDesk can be run directly from the floppy disk. For reasons of convenience and speed , we recommend that you run the application off your hard drive.

IMPORTANT: In order to guard against loss, please make a back-up copy of the application.

 

Starting Helpdesk

To start HelpDesk, go to the directory into which you have copied the HelpDesk application .To start the program simply double- click the file named HelpDesk.exe.
Recommended: To speed up the start-up procedure, create a short cut for HelpDesk on your desktop. You can also make a short cut to this program by right clicking anywhere on your desktop and selecting "New" and then "Shortcut". Browse for the command line, which should be the directory where you have installed the files. If you have difficulty doing this, please refer to your Windows 95 manual for details.
